1 pound a week.
6 pages a week.
150 dollars a week.
Three goals, broken down into bite-sized pieces.
If I can just do these three small things each week for the next year, I will be:
52 pounds lighter.
312 pages into my book.
7,200 dollars down in debt.
If I’d known it was so doable, I’d have started last year!
I’ve been listening to a collection of speeches by famous motivational speaker Zig Ziglar, which I got for the low price of zero dollars thanks to Audible’s 2 month free trial on Groupon. He is huge on reminding people of their value and potential, and also emphasizes the importance of having clear goals.
It really helps to do the math and see my goals as reachable and repeatable. I can absolutely lose one pound this week. I can write six pages, and I can set aside 150 dollars.
I get overwhelmed and off-track easily. I need constant reminders and motivation. I think these small steps will slide into my routine without raising my blood pressure or making me feel like I need to spend a ton of time and money to look better and feel accomplished.
One life. I want it to be a life that I can be proud to sign my name to.
If we aren’t living the life we love, we can take steps to get closer and closer until finally we wake up and are surrounded by the reality of our dreams.
What are some of your goals that you could measure weekly? Tell me so I don’t feel alone in this! I need my sistas and brothers for encouragement so that I don’t get sidetracked and start binge-watching Gilmore Girls again.
