Birthday weekend was a success!
There was a lovely dinner out at Social 52, a “surprise” paint nite event at The Speakeasy, a strawberry margaritas on the patio at Baja Bean, and then a night of dancing to old school hip hop jams at Bellytimber. I might have given my number to a handsome man. One of my friends ate pizza off the floor. The night was a huge success.
Day two brought my parents in from Northern Virginia, and I took them to a magical place called Chicken Fiesta for lunch. Afterwards we toured the Virginia Historical Society and then came home and watched Hairspray (I was tired for some reason) and ate Proper Pie. Later we got dinner at Hill Cafe, and then did presents. I got a sock monkey. At 9 pm, I was picked up and whisked to the airport. Calm down, I didn’t get on a plane. My best friend and her husband, after two and a half agonizing years of waiting and praying, were finally bringing their newly adopted children home from the Congo. We were on the welcoming committee. It was so touching and such a beautiful new beginning for their family!
Sunday was outdoor church at Dogwood Dell Ampitheatre, made even better by the free gelato truck they brought in. Lunch was pizza and beer at Mellow Mushroom, and then we capped the night off with great fellowship and discussion at Bible study. Later on at home, eating a late dinner of leftover crab pasta with a glass of Cabernet, I caught up on “The Catch”, a new show on ABC.
I felt very loved this weekend, and I am thankful for all of my friends who came out to celebrate 29 years of Angela. You guys are the best and I am one lucky girl.

Blessed Birthday Angela! You are blessed because of Jesus. May you see much more favour this year than all your past 29 years!
